Plaza San Diego, Cartagena de Indias, Learn Spanish


Plaza San Diego: Uno de los lugares más populares en Cartagena de Indias para conocer gente y tomar una comida o una bebida. 

Cantantes y algunos bailarines animan la plaza de Santo Domingo constantemente, vendedores o cualquier otro servicio ambulante. Las terrazas y bares son numerosos, con el objetivo de descansar, divertirse o para conocer el mundo.
El lugar es espléndido con una arquitectura colonial y balcones impresionantes. Una escultura llamada "Gertrudis" del artista colombiano Fernando Botero preside el lugar justo delante de la Iglesia Santo Domingo. Según la creencia popular, al tocar los senos de esta grande mujer, la gente tendrá largas relaciones amorosas. En el siglo XVII, este lugar se utilizaba para las ejecuciones de la inquisición.
